Killeen Police Need the Community’s Assistance
Killeen, TX (March 11, 2022): Killeen police are asking for the community’s assistance in the tragic incident involving Robin Ashford.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit have identified a person of interest and we believe people have information about this incident and the people involved. We urge you to come forward with your information. Detectives continue to actively investigate this case and we can assure you that the department is committed in solving this incident and will follow all leads, wherever they may take us.

Killeen Police Identifies Fire Victim
UPDATE – Killeen, TX (March 9, 2022): The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Robin Lynn Ashford.

The preliminary autopsy report was received, and this investigation will be conducted as a Homicide.

Both Killeen Police and Fire departments are actively investigating this Homicide. Detectives and arson investigators continue to interview witnesses and use their resources that could assist them in their investigation.

There is no additional information at this time.


NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS INVESTIGATE AN APARTMENT FIRE

Killeen, TX (March 7, 2022): Killeen Police and Fire Departments are investigating the death of a female located inside a structure fire.
On Monday, March 7, 2022, at approximately 1:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Lake Road in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters with the Killeen Fire Department were on scene and making entry into one of the apartments due to heavy smoke. One victim was located inside, and paramedics immediately started life saving measures.
The female victim was pronounced deceased at 2:44 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at the scene. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensics Sciences in Dallas.
The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification next of kin.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Homicide Unit and Arson Investigators with the Killeen Fire Department continue to actively investigate this incident and there is no other information at this time.
