The man who was shot and killed in Killeen has been identified as Robert M. Blunt.
Blunt, 52, was shot on Feb. 7.
The cause of death has been determined as multiple gunshot wounds to the head, neck, trunk and right upper extremity, according to an initial autopsy report from the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences at Dallas. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide. That does not, however, mean the death was criminal in nature.
Officers responding to the call were told “two males, the homeowner and an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal (altercation) that became physical. During the altercation, one of the males was shot. The gunshot victim was transported to Metroplex Hospital,”.
Police have not announced any arrests in the case, and it is still under investigation.
Blunt was a highly decorated U.S. Army soldier for 20 years, according to his obituary. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and earned his associate degree while serving. After leaving the Army, he was a contractor for the military for five years before going to welding school
