Mary K. Harris

November 16, 1984

Mary K. Harris, 33, was a mother of three and worked in a Belton convenience store. In the process of getting a divorce, Harris was found in a storage room inside the store where she worked. She was shot once in the back of the head but survived, only to die later on Nov. 16, 1984, of complications from the gunshot wound.

The suspect in Harris’ death was described as a white man with a dark complexion who was about 30 to 40 years old. He reportedly had black hair, a shabby beard and drove a gold/brown long vehicle with damage to the left back quarter panel, according to the Texas Rangers cold case files.
